April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball athletes who earned medals during several Olympics. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics and will attempt to win her third gold medal. Ross is also hoping to win her very first Olympic medal. As she turns 39, it could be her last chance to win the Olympic gold. Nevertheless, she remains certain of taking top honors. Ross on NBC Boston, said that if the team plays very well, or even at all, they can earn a gold. Additionally, I'm going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area with her family. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. Along with the indoor game, she also played basketball and jogged track in her pre-college days. In the last sport she was clearly the standout. The college bio says that she played outside of the hitter, middle blocker, and setter throughout her volleyball time at high school. Gatorade Circle of Champions named her the national Player 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her in volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been doing what they do from 2017. The reality is that Ross was a major player in the beach volleyball scene before the pairing. She's won big events twice, with various partners. A couple of those has become an icon of the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 through 2013. Together, Kessy Ross was an ace on the international stage, claiming a world title in 2009. They took home a Silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat out for gold. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. The pair went on to earn bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross started her college career with the USC Trojans in graduation from high school. It was a long time before Ross made her debut on the beach, and then became a professional. Her time at USC was a memorable one. She was a All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year in 2000 as a young freshman. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans get to the Final Four. The Trojans were devastated through a tragedy in her life during her second year, but she was able to make it an All-American again. The two years following her she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and took home consecutive national championships. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross was who was a USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie never got to see Ross rise to the highest levels of beach volleyball fame. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001, when Ross was a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. She still holds her mother dear. Margie at the beach and in daily life, continues to inspire her.
