Whitney Elizabeth Houston (born 9 August 1993 in Newark New Jersey) is the child of gospel superstar Cissy Houston. When she was a little girl, Houston began singing professionally at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark along with her mother singing on Chaka K's Im Every Woman in 1978. The singer went on to sing the backing vocals of Lou Rawls, Jermaine & Jackson as well as her mother, and also worked briefly as model on the front cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. She began working as a vocalist in the band Material. the New York-based funk band Material in the year 1981. It was this quality of her work as a vocalist in the band that caught the attention of several major record labels including Arista with whom she signed in 1983. They set her up for a Beatles-beating seven consecutive US number ones. In its debut US year the album had sold more than 3 million copies. Then it went on to be bought by over millions of people around the world and earned her the first Grammy. The Whitney album of 1987, featuring the tracks I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to continue her popularity. It was The Bodyguard of 1992 that made her one of the biggest-selling performers in the history of music. While the movie and the actress' performance were not highly praised, the soundtrack album featuring her rendition of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was her top-selling single for many months. It sold more than 44 million copies around the world. Also in 1993 when she was married to Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition artist and father of her only child Bobbi Kristina Brown. Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American anchorwoman for the CNN newsroom and political reporter for CNN. The anchor also hosts a few weekend shows for the network that include Evans & Novak Late Edition and Inside Politics. Bash has also worked for other well-known networks in recent times like NBC as well as CBS. Bash has been awarded numerous awards as well as being included in the Women in Washington Power List by Elle magazine. She is highly respected for her amazing abilities as a reporter/an anchor.
